Florida Gators freshman quarterback Jalon Jones was accused of sexual battery in a report filed with police in early April, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Two university students told police that Jones sexually assaulted them the morning of April 6, and though both received rape kits at Shands Hospital, neither decided to press charges and Jones was not arrested.

The Gainesville Sun, which obtained the report from the University Police Department, notes that the first incident occurred when Jones was having consensual sex with a woman but did not stop after the victim repeatedly told him to do so after teammates Jaydon Hill and Chris Steele briefly entered the room laughing before leaving once they realized the two were having sex.

Later that same morning, Jones allegedly battered another woman. The second victim told police Jones was consoling her in his dormitory kitchen before starting to kiss her and penetrate her with his fingers. When Jones began to go further and have sex with her, the woman objected but he did not stop. The incident did not come to a halt until Hill entered the common area.

Jones played in the Gators’ Orange & Blue Debut spring game one week after the alleged assaults.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Jones had entered the NCAA transfer portal in a mutual agreement with the coaching staff. The four-star early enrollee was slated to be the fourth-string quarterback for Florida this fall. Rated as the 306th best player in the Class of 2019, Jones was a borderline four-star prospect who committed to UF despite holding offers from multiple SEC programs, including Alabama.

“We are aware of the incident reports and have followed athletic department and campus protocols,” team sports information director Steve McClain told the Times.
