As is customary, the Southeastern Conference on Friday released the results of its media polls following the 2018 SEC Media Days. And once again, the results of these votes were not good for the Florida Gators.

Florida has been predicted to finish third in the SEC East this season, receiving just four first-place votes. Georgia (271) and South Carolina (8) led the way with Missouri, Kentucky (1), Tennessee (1) and Vanderbilt rounding out the division.

Of course, Alabama (263) is predicted to win the SEC West with the rest of the division falling as follows: Auburn (19), Mississippi State (2), Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas.

Alabama is also predicted to win the SEC Championship with 193 votes. Florida (2) finished fifth in that voting behind Georgia (69), Auburn (14) and South Carolina (4).

Some good news for UF? Only six times in the last 35 years has the media correctly predicted the SEC champion, and it is often quite off regarding predicted order of finish, too.

The Gators placed eight players total on the three All-SEC teams with two first-team nods: seniors offensive tackle Martez Ivey and defensive end Cece Jefferson.

Sophomore defensive backs Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and CJ Henderson earned second-team honors, while redshirt junior running back Jordan Scarlett, sophomore DB Marco Wilson, junior lienbacker David Reese and sophomore all-purpose player Kadarius Toney picked up third-team picks.
