As the start of the 2020 college football season for the SEC approaches, the conference and its network partners on Tuesday announced a number of kickoff times and television assignments for the start of the year. However, while the Florida Gators will be in a couple of featured matchups, they do not have any night games scheduled at this time.
Florida will open the season with the rest of the SEC on Saturday, Sept. 26 when it travels to face Ole Miss in a game that will air at noon ET on ESPN. The same designations will be applied to UF’s second game when South Carolina enters Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 3.
The Gators will get a late-afternoon kickoff when they host defending national champion LSU on Saturday, Oct. 17, though that 3:30 p.m. game will air on ESPN or ESPN2 as there is not an SEC on CBS doubleheader this season and CBS will air the Alabama-Georgia game at 8 p.m.
Speaking of the SEC on CBS, the annual Florida-Georgia game will take its normal 3:30 p.m. spot on the network, though the game was pushed back one week to Saturday, Nov. 3.
CBS announced six games already, leaving four open spots on its schedule. If Florida plays any additional games on CBS this season, they could be added in currently unannounced slots for Oct. 10 (at Texas A&M), Oct. 24 (vs. Missouri), Nov. 21 (at Vanderbilt) and/or Dec. 5 (at Tennessee) — the most likely options being the first and last, both road games.
