After landing a commitment late Sunday from Australian punter and 2020 prospect Jeremy Crawshaw, the Florida Gators received even more good news Monday when in-state 2021 defensive lineman Christopher Thomas (Fort Myers, FL) committed to the program. He is the sixth member of the program’s junior recruiting class.
“I would like to thank everyone on my journey and everybody who encouraged me to never give up,” Thomas wrote on Twitter. “And y’all will never go unnoticed, but with that being said I am 100% committed to University of Florida GO GATORS!!!”
Thomas (6-foot-5, 280 pounds) committed to Florida and defensive line coach David Turner following an unofficial visit last weekend. He was on hand to witness the Gators’ 34-3 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers and felt it was the right time to pull the trigger and commit to the coaching staff.
Thomas joins a class that ranks sixth nationally and first in the SEC, according to 247Sports. He is not currently ranked by the recruiting service, and as such, is the lowest-rated prospect in the Gators’ class.
