TWO BITS: Skip Holts at USF, Runaway Lane

1 » Though the coaching change at Tennessee is garnering much national attention, the Florida Gators 2010 schedule may have just gotten a little tougher if you believe that Skip Holtz has what it takes to begin a major turnaround with the South Florida Bulls. Regardless of what you think, Holtz is confident that his new team can eventually rise to the level of Florida, but he knows it will not happen right away. “That’s what I’m here,” Holtz responded to a student who hollered “Beat Florida!” at his opening press conference. “We want to build one of the better programs in the country. It’s not going to happen overnight, but it can happen here.” The Gators and Bulls square-off on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, in Florida’s second game of the season.

Is he going to sing “Bulls on Parade” in the Swamp all night after he beats Florida? Buwhahaha. USF will never be where Florida is and I am doing my MBA at USF right now.

My favorite joke about Lane leaving was that he is going to be eating Beaver all night in Corvallis after he beats OSU. Lane is such an easy target.

I like USF but I just don’t think they can get as much top notch talent as the 3 BIG schools of Florida get so I really don’t feel threatened by them being on our schedule. I do think Skip will have them playing some very good ball within a year of arriving in South Florida.

  3. Like Skip Holtz. Don’t mind USF. Like the combination.

USF is definitely more liked than FSU or my achilles heel..Miami. With falling to USF, I would almost consider USF to be part of the “Big 3” over FSU

“Runaway Lane” has also been made into a You Tube vid.
