A couple of rarities will happen in Week 6 when the No. 9 Florida Gators and No. 7 Auburn Tigers meet inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Auburn will be visiting Gainesville, Florida, for the first time since 2007, the Gators and Tigers will play for the first time since 2011, and ESPN will bring its signature “College GameDay” program to town for the first time since 2012.

This will mark Florida’s 40th appearance on “GameDay” and the second time this season that the Gators will be featured on the program. Florida is 25-14 all-time in such games, and its 40th appearance puts it third amongst its peers, behind only Alabama and Ohio State.

The Gators last hosted “GameDay” on Oct. 20, 2012, a game in which third-ranked Florida embarrassed ninth-ranked South Carolina 44-11 with Steve Spurrier serving as head coach of the Gamecocks. That was also the last time there was a matchup between two top 10 teams in The Swamp.

Since that game, the Gators are 1-3 in their last four appearances with this year’s victory in Week 0 over Miami serving as Florida’s first win since that 2012 season.

ESPN hinted that the program will take place from a new location in Gainesville, though no further information has been provided at this time.

Florida vs. Auburn will air live at 3:30 p.m. ET as the SEC on CBS Game of the Week.

The Gators have lost three straight and four of the last five to the Tigers dating back to 2001. UF previously won seven straight over AU from 1995-2000. Auburn leads the all-time series 43-38-2.
