The building of the Class of 2025 has been slow, but perhaps it is picking up steam with the early signing period just weeks away. Three-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers (Brentwood, TN) committed to the Florida Gators on Monday becoming the program’s second new pledge in the last 24 hours.
Shivers (6-foot-5, 365 pounds), who was previously committed to Georgia before leaving that class on Nov. 8, made his decision fresh off an official visit during which he watched Florida take down LSU. He is ranked as the No. 489 overall prospect in the nation, per the 247Sports Composite.
Four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. (Jacksonville, FL) committed to the Gators on Sunday just days after departing Florida State’s class.
Florida has jumped two spots in the 247Sports Composite team rankings to No. 31 — 12 spots over the last two days from No. 43 entering the weekend. As the Gators continue to add commitments, they will naturally progress up those rankings; however, given the lack of star power in the class and the limited time remaining until signing day, it is likely that the 2025 group will be the lowest-ranked class yet under Napier.
