The fifth regular season editions of the USA Today Coaches and Associated Press Top 25 polls were released on Sunday with the Alabama Crimson Tide remaining the No. 1 team in the country in both rankings systems. Alabama received 57-of-59 first-place votes from the coaches and all 60 first-place votes from the AP voters.
The Florida Gators, which had their bye week and did not play on Saturday, moved up one spot to No. 11 and No. 10 in the respective polls. Florida checked in with 883 voting points (+66) in the USA Today rankings and with 937 voting points (+73) in the AP poll.
This is the highest the Gators have been ranked in both polls since they were the unanimous No. 7 team in the country on Sept. 25, 2010.

Not sure about LSU falling and FSU moving up but so long as we play our game, it doesn’t matter!
Yes Mr2bits, that’s really odd to me considering FSU was a fumble recovery for a touchdown from the game getting really interesting against a bad south Florida team. #media love
I have a really hard time with West Virginia having 63 points hung on them, winning by just one TD in their house by a team that is hardly in the top 25. They have an outstanding QB but he has played against JV defenses to this point. That team is all hype!
CAN’T WAIT FOR SATURDAY!!!
GEAUX GATORS!!! (SWAMP the kittens)
Aside from UF beating Fraudulently Scholastic U to hand them their lone loss, there would be nothing more satisfying than seeing them get “Boise State-ed” out of the BCSCG in favor of a couple of one loss teams…this scenario is actually feasible due to the utter tatters the ACC is in and the Noles ridiculously weak non-con schedule as by the end of the season UF might be the only team they played that actually finishes ranked…
Wow. It would be nice to knock off 4 top 6 teams over the next couple of months.
Were not going to beat free shoes u, they are loaded with players. That’s what happens when urban falls asleep at the switch.
FB, WOW! We are loaded with players too. Yes Meyer left us thin at some positions particularly the lines of scrimmage but the juniors playing were the #1 class in the nation and he consistently brought in top 10 classes however short on numbers. It’s not so obvious as you think. Not to mention we have a little but more depth and experience on a defense that held them to 96 yards offense last year. I watched Clemson and south Florida play them, it’s not as hopeless as you think.
Not to be a downer but a lot of those guys have underachieved or have left the program. We might be 1-2 deep, they are 3-4 deep in some key spots. Again the urban factor still bites us. I’ll bet you this, we will not be able to run the ball on their d-line. Don’t have the horses at rb even if the oline plays well enough. Gillys great but not sure he can take the pounding between now and then to be effective.
