The Southeastern Conference on Tuesday released the game times and network affiliations for the first three weeks of the 2013 football season with the Florida Gators‘ contests set to be broadcast as follows:

Aug. 31 – vs. Toledo (Gainesville, FL) – 12:21 p.m. SEC Network
Sept. 7 – at Miami (Miami Gardens, FL) – 12:00 p.m. ESPN

The Gators will start the season with consecutive games being kicked off before 1 p.m. for the first time since 2010.

Florida and Miami are not scheduled to square off again after the two teams meet in on Sept. 7. The Gators and Hurricanes will play their sixth game this century (one bowl game) after playing 49 times in 50 years from 1938-1987.

Gators head coach Will Muschamp addressed Florida’s game against Miami during an appearance at the 2013 Southeastern Conference Media Days on Tuesday.

“I think Al Golden has done an outstanding job at Miami, a team that should have played for the ACC Championship last year. They’re going through a tough time as far as those things are concerned. But during that time, he has done an outstanding job recruiting and signing good talent. He’s a really good football coach,” he said.

Muschamp also discussed whether or not he would be for playing the Hurricanes on an annual basis.

“I do think it’s important for the in state schools to play each other, if possible, if it’s good for everybody involved,” he said. “I know that will be good for our state. There’s so many good football coaches in our state, high school, and there’s so many good high school football players in our state. I always tell guys, ‘If you don’t come to Florida, go to an in state school. That’s where I’d rather see them play anyway.'”

It was previously announced by CBS in June that the network will carry Florida’s annual game against Georgia for the 11th consecutive year and 17th time in the last 18 seasons dating back to 1996 (2002 – ESPN).
