The first regular season editions of the USA Today Coaches’ Poll and Associated Press Top 25 were released on Tuesday with the Alabama Crimson Tide remaining the No. 1-ranked team in the country in both polls. 
Alabama received 58-of-62 first-place votes from the coaches and 58-of-60 first-place votes from the AP voters.
The Florida Gators (1-0), fresh off of a season opening 24-6 victory over Toledo at home, moved up one spot to No. 9 in the USA Today rankings but fell two places to No. 12 – while being jumped by LSU and Florida State – in the AP top 25. Florida checked in with 974 points (+34) in the USA Today poll and 875 points (-19) in the AP rankings.
Florida’s opponent on Saturday, the Miami Hurricanes, squeaked into the to 25 at a tie with TCU for No. 24 in the USA Today poll. Miami was not ranked by the AP voters, however, finishing 26th – eight points behind USC.
