Florida basketball down to No. 14/16 in top 25

The second regular season editions of the USA Today Coaches’ Poll and Associated Press Top 25 were released on Monday with the Michigan State Spartans taking over as the No. 1-ranked team in the country. Michigan State received 22-of-32 first-place votes from the coaches and 51-of-65 first-place votes from the AP voters.

The Florida Gators (2-1), fresh off a 59-53 loss on the road at ranked Wisconsin on Tuesday and an 86-56 home victory over Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday, moved down four spots to No. 14 in the USA Today rankings and dropped five places to No. 16 in the AP top 25. Florida checked in with 359 points (-198) in the USA Today poll and 619 points (-376) in the AP rankings.

The Gators will play three more top-25 teams in non-conference action.
