Florida Gators basketball released the team’s entire 2014-15 non-conference schedule on Tuesday, though times and network assignments will not be announced until closer to the start of the season.
The Gators will face at least three (but up to seven) opponents who took part in the 2014 NCAA Tournament while also participating in special events including the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in Paradise Island, Bahamas, SEC-Big 12 Challenge and Orange Bowl Basketball Classic.
Potential opponents for Florida in the Battle 4 Atlantis include Butler, Georgetown, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, UAB and UCLA.
“This difficult schedule will not only prepare our team for league and postseason play, it delivers a terrific lineup of marquee games for our fans,” said Mike Hill, UF’s executive associate athletic director for external affairs, in a school release. “From hosting the defending national champions, to renewing the Miami rivalry, to playing in perhaps the toughest tournament ever assembled, this schedule has it all for the Gators.”

SCHEDULE NOTES
» The Gators will only play one in-state game outside of Gainesville, Florida, when they travel to participate in the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic in Sunrise. This will be atoned for during the 2015-16 non-conference slate when UF will play all of its home games away from the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
» Mitchell Wilbekin, the brother of former Gators point guard Scottie Wilbekin, will be a freshman at Wake Forest next season.
» Twelve teams each from the SEC and Big 12 will compete in the SEC-Big 12 Challenge from Dec. 3-6. Florida and Kansas is a return match from
2013 in which the Gators triumphed 67-61 in the O’Dome.
» UF and UConn square off for the third time in two seasons. The Huskies last season handed the Gators one of their two regular-season losses – a 65-64 defeat in Stoors, Connecticut – and also knocked UF out of the NCAA Tournament with a 63-53 whooping in the Final Four.
» The Southeastern Conference will announce Florida’s 18-game league schedule in August. Included will be tip-off times and network affiliations. A large portion of UF’s games will likely be shown on the new SEC Network.
ah, so b4a is a tournament, but must be split into 2 separate tournaments. We actually won’t potentially play KU twice even if we move through the bracket
That’s a nice, well-rounded schedule that should be acceptable to the committee (assuming that we get considered by the committee).
