The Florida Gators added to their recruiting haul and continued their momentum Wednesday afternoon when four-star running back Jordan Cronkrite (Miami, FL) officially committed to the program on National Signing Day.
Cronkrite (5-foot-11, 198 pounds) chose Florida over Miami and West Virginia. A one-time Canes commitment, he was once thought to be heading to play for the Mountaineers…until the Gators entered the picture.
Listed as the 268th best player in the nation and No. 16 athlete by the 247Sports Composite, Cronkrite totaled 2,960 rushing yards and 30 touchdowns on 286 carries over the last two seasons for Westminster Christian High School.
He also showed an ability to catch passes out of the backfield, totaling 604 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver, an attractive quality to his recruiters, running backs coach Tim Skipper and linebackers coach Randy Shannon.
Cronkrite is the 19th member of Florida’s Class of 2015 and fifth commitment already on signing day. He is also the seventh South Florida player and second running back to commit to the Gators this week, joining four-star Jordan Scarlett (Fort Lauderdale, FL).
