Florida basketball up two spots to No. 7/8 in polls

The 12th regular season editions of the 2012-13 ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with the Duke Blue Devils (16-1) taking over as the new No. 1 team in the nation and receiving 59 of 96 combined first-place votes from the coaches and pollsters.

The Florida Gators, coming off a pair of dominant league victories, jumped up two spots each to No. 7 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll andNo. 8 in the AP Top 25. Florida gained 62 voting points in the ESPN/USA Today rankings and added 162 points in the AP poll. The Gators are one of three Southeastern Conference teams listed in the rankings this week.
