The 13th regular season editions of the 2012-13 ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press Top 25 Polls were released on Monday with the Kansas Jayhawks (18-1) and Michigan Wolverines (19-1) taking over as the new No. 1 teams in the country based on the respective polls.

The Florida Gators, coming off a pair of dominant league victories, jumped up and evened out at No. 4 in both polls. Florida moved up three spots and gained 97 voting points in the ESPN/USA Today rankings while moving up four places and adding 239 points in the AP poll. The Gators are one of three Southeastern Conference teams listed in the rankings this week.

Florida, which received one first-place vote in each poll, registered its highest regular season ranking in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ Poll since Feb. 26, 2007 and in the AP Top 25 since Feb. 19, 2007.

Basketball polls make no sense. How is Arizona number 8 when they have the same number of losses as we do and they beat us? The two teams that beat us are probably slightly better than their losses but still makes no sense. Also, why is Indiana ahead of us? We both have two losses but we beat one of the teams that beat them.

The rankings aren’t as logical as you are making them out to be. It doesnt really matter much either since the tourney decides it all.

After the gators lost to az, they moved back in the rankings as the gators continued to win (and teams in front of them lost) they moved up and so did zona. Then zona lost at oregon by a few points and lost at home to ucla by over 10 pts. Gators have dominated SEC play while zona is 3-2 in the pac10. Florida hasnt lost in a month, zona lost twice in the last two weeks.

not saying its right but most polls lineup teams and move them forward as teams in front fall.
