With 2022 National Signing Day less than 24 hours away, the Florida Gators got an early start with a commitment. Three-star EDGE Jack Pyburn (Jacksonville, FL) committed to the Gators on Tuesday becoming the 16th member of head coach Billy Napier’s transition class.

Pyburn (6-foot-3, 265 pounds) committed to Florida over Auburn just days after receiving a scholarship offer. He took an official visit to UF on Friday, received his offer Sunday and decided to pledge to the state’s flagship program two days later.

The commitment of Pyburn boosts the Gators seven spots to No. 19 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings. Florida was ranked as low as 79th after Napier’s hiring. It’s clear Napier has made incredible strides in rebuilding a respectable class in an exceedingly short period of the time.

The Gators do have a few scholarships remaining, so it’s possible they move up even further by the time Wednesday comes to a conclusion. Florida has not finished with a recruiting class ranked worst than 21st nationally since 2001.
