Nine former Florida Gators were invited to participate in the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine (National Invitational Camp) at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The event, which consisted of approximately 320 players being put through a series of drills, tests and interviews while more than 600 NFL personnel evaluated each of them, amounts to a massive job interview ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
With coaching staffs, executives, player personnel and medical staff all in attendance, these athletes were looked at from top to bottom. Teams are narrowing their lists before the draft, which is set for April 23-25 at Point State Parkand Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
Florida was among the top five programs represented with nine Gators in attendance for the second straight year and third time over the last four offseasons. Let’s take a look at where a significant number of Florida players stand coming out of the event.
WR J. Michael Sturdivant
Height: 6’3” | Weight: 207 lbs.
Arm length: 32 7/8″ | Hand size: 9 1/2″
40-yard dash: 4.40 seconds (T12)
Vertical jump: 39.0″ (T8) | Broad jump: 171.0″ (T5)
Sturdivant ranked third overall among wide receivers in athleticism, 28th overall when considering his on-field production, which paled in comparison to expectations given his overall level of talent. It is expected that he will be a middle-round pick. Did not participate in bench press, 3-cone drill or 20-yard shuttle.
OT Austin Barber
Height: 6’7” | Weight: 318 lbs.
Arm length: 33 1/8″ | Hand size: 9 5/8″
40-yard dash: 5.12 seconds
Vertical jump: 32.0″ (T13) | Broad jump: 111.0″ (T11)
Barber ranked ninth overall among offensive tackles in athleticism, placing the same overall, lining him up to be a Day 3 selection. Struggles against some of the top defensive lines he faced as a senior did not help matters. Did not participate in bench press, 3-cone drill or 20-yard shuttle.
OL Jake Slaughter
Height: 6’5” | Weight: 303 lbs.
Arm length: 32 3/8″ | Hand size: 10″
40-yard dash: 5.10 seconds
Vertical jump: 32.5″ (T6) | Broad jump: 110.0″
Slaghter was the third-most athletic center, which sets him up as the No. 1 overall player at his position in the draft, considering his stellar final two seasons at Florida. His experience as a captain and overall football IQ should make him a relatively early selection. Did not participate in bench press, 3-cone drill or 20-yard shuttle.
DT Caleb Banks
Height: 6’6” | Weight: 327 lbs.
Arm length: 35″ | Hand size: 10.78″
40-yard dash: 5.04 seconds (8th)
Vertical jump: 32.0″ (T8) | Broad jump: 112.0″ (T5)
Banks ranked fifth overall among defensive tackles after placing similarly in the athleticism tests. He is ironically drawing comparisons to fellow Gators standout Gervon Dexter Sr., who has carved out a solid role in the NFL. Banks was said to be one of the biggest risers coming out of the combine, a stock raise he badly needed after only playing in two games last season. Did not participate in bench press, 3-cone drill or 20-yard shuttle.
DE George Gumbs Jr.
Height: 6’4” | Weight: 245 lbs.
Arm length: 33 5/8″ | Hand size: 9″
40-yard dash: 4.66 seconds (9th) | 3-cone drill: 7 seconds
Vertical jump: 41.0″ (1st) | Broad jump: 121.0″ (8th)
Gumbs tried to show as much as he could at the combine; in fact, he was one of only two defensive ends to compete in the 3-cone drill. His 7-second time in that drill is considered at the top end of pass rushers. Ultimately, he came out ranked eighth in athleticism, slotting 36th overall among defensive ends and EDGE rushers. Gumbs is projected as a Day 3 selection, though a solid Pro Day and slate of interviews could get him picked early on Saturday. Did not participate in bench press or 20-yard shuttle.
DL Tyreak Sapp
Height: 6’2” | Weight: 273 lbs.
Arm length: 32″ | Hand size: 9 1/2″
Bench press: 28 reps
Sapp did not participate in the on-field workout portion of the combine. He is seen as having legitimate NFL traits without a package that slots him into a particular role that projects success. Sapp exits the combine ranked higher than Gumbs but with more question marks.
CB Devin Moore
Height: 6’3” | Weight: 198 lbs.
Arm length: 31 5/8″ | Hand size: 8 5/8″
40-yard dash: 4.50 seconds (T16)
Moore is seen as a productive player with high upside, though he is someone who needs to put more numbers in his spreadsheet throughout the draft process — especially considering his long-term durability concerns. He’s seen as a top 10 cornerback in the draft and will do more drills at Pro Day as he underwent groin surgery in December 2025 and continues to work his way back into full health. Did not participate in the vertical jump, broad jump, bench press, 3-cone drill or 20-yard shuttle.
P Tommy Doman Jr.
Height: 6’4” | Weight: 213 lbs.
Arm length: 31″ | Hand size: 9 5/8″
Doman is not a draftable player. He will be trying to make a practice squad.
K Trey Smack
Height: 6’1” | Weight: 188 lbs.
Arm length: 30″ | Hand size: 8 3/4″
Smack may wind up being the top kicker on draft boards; either way, he could be selected in the latter two rounds given his strong leg and above-average accuracy. He hit a 60-yard field goal during specialist drills after being iced by coaches, and some have him as the specialist who raised his stock the most at the combine.
