Florida Gators’ 2010 NCAA Tournament resume

The Florida Gators needed to win one of their final three games to all but ensure themselves a spot in the 2010 NCAA Tournament for the first time in three seasons. Instead, a tough road losses to unranked Georgia and No. 3/3 Kentucky as well as a home defeat by No. 13/19 Vanderbilt have left the Gators losers of their last three and back on the proverbial bubble.

Let’s take a look at the resume the NCAA Selection Committee will be reviewing:

Record: 20-11, 9-7 SEC
Strength of Schedule: 45
Ratings Percentage Index: 53

Important wins (RPI): 2/23 vs. Tennessee (13), 11/27 vs. Michigan State (26), 11/24 vs. Florida State (32), 2/20 at Ole Miss (56), 2/6 vs. Mississippi State (69)

Acceptable losses: 12/10 vs. Syracuse (3), 1/12 & 3/7 vs. Kentucky (4), 1/31* Tennessee (13), 1/9 & 3/2 vs. Vanderbilt (20), 2/13 vs. Xavier (21), 12/19 vs. Richmond (25)

Unacceptable losses: 2/27** at Georgia (209), 12/22 vs. South Alabama (226)

Other losses: 2/10 at South Carolina (80)

    That about sums it up. With chances late in the season we blew it. Seems like this team can grasp defeat out of the jaws of victory
