The Class of 2025 has been slow to build for the Florida Gators tot his point, but it added a much-needed piece Thursday. Three-star defensive lineman Jeramiah McCloud (Havana, FL), a prospect steadily rising in the recruiting rankings, committed to Florida coming off a third visit this spring.
McCloud (6-foot-3, 280 pounds) was previously committed to Mississippi State but has been pursued by a number of other prominent programs of late, including Florida State. His pledge was a needed one for the Gators as the first defensive lineman to join the class.
With McCloud aboard, after having lost a commitment last month, Florida stands with just four prospects aboard for 2025, a far cry from some of its rivals like LSU (12), Georgia (eight). For that reason, the Gators are presently No. 48 in the 247Sports Team Rankings. The average rating of their commitments is much better at 13th nationally, though that ranks behind all of UF’s rivals.
McCloud is ranked 501st in the Class of 2024.
