The Florida Gators added a massive piece (literally) in their attempt to find success in Year 3 under head coach Billy Napier. Four-star offensive lineman Jason Zandamela (Clearwater, FL) on Thursday committed to join Florida after spending three months at USC.

Zandamela (6-foot-3, 306 pounds), the No. 46 overall recruit in the Class of 2024 who was considered the No. 7 prospect in the transfer portal by 247Sports, decided to join the Gators just days after completing an official visit to Gainesville, Florida.

Napier and offensive line coach Rob Sale targeted him out of high school, but he ultimately chose USC over Florida State. After just a few months practicing with the Trojans, Zandamela decided to enter the transfer portal in hopes of playing closer to home.

The interior lineman has only played American football for three years, but time spent as a rugby player in Mozambique led to him being a quick learner. In fact, despite his inexperience, Zandamela was named to the 2024 Under Armour All-America team.

Zandamela is the 13th incoming transfer — and now the highest-rated such player — for Florida ahead of the 2024 season.
