Looking to complement a strong incoming transfer portal class with some standout high school prospects in the upcoming recruiting cycle, Florida Gators head basketball coach Todd Golden has earned a pledge from one of his top targets. Four-star 2024 guard Isaiah Brown (Orlando, FL) committed to the Gators on Sunday, choosing Florida over Georgia, Missouri and other prominent programs.

“Home is where my heart is #committed #Gators,” he wrote on Twitter.

Brown (6-foot-3, 170 pounds) made his call for Florida just two weeks after receiving a committable offer from the program. The 112th ranked player in the 247Sports Composite, he is the Gators’ first pledge for 2024 as Golden shifts his focus towards younger prospects after rebuilding Florida’s roster through the portal.

With Brown now in tow, the Gators have jumped into the top 25 of the team recruiting rankings, though there is a long way to go until the 2024 cycle closes, and Golden certainly has his eyes on higher-rated prospects.

Florida only added three-star power forward Thomas Haugh (Pennsburg, VA) and Australian center Alex Condon as first-year prospects in the Class of 2023. They are linking up with a four-player transfer class headlined by regraded four-stars point guard Walter Clayton Jr. (Iona) and C Micah Handlogten (Marshall).

The Gators had nine of their 13 scholarships open at one point or another amid significant roster turnover this offseason. Florida still has two remaining that it can fill ahead of the 2023-24 season.
