As Florida Gators fans continue to wait for head coach Billy Napier’s army to reel in some bigger fish, the program continues to build the foundation of its Class of 2023. Such was the case Sunday as three-star offensive lineman Tommy Kinsler (Ocala, FL) committed to the Gators.

Kinsler (6-foot-6, 330 pounds) is a big-bodied lineman from nearby Trinity Catholic High School who was recruited by both of Florida’s position coaches, offensive coordinator Rob Sale and assistant offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton.

UF led for Kinsler nearly his entire recruitment, though he recently concluded a visit to Rutgers and had one planned to Miami. It is unknown if he plans to still visit the Hurricanes.

The sixth member of the Gators’ 2023 class, Kinsler is now the lowest-rated commitment at No. 964 overall in the 247Sports Composite. Five of Florida’s six verbal pledges are from the Sunshine State, and it only has two four-star prospects as part of its class — both rated in the 300s nationally.

As such, UF has the 50th ranked class nationally in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, ninth in the SEC and behind both Florida State and Miami in the state.

While the Gators have a number of lines out, there may be none bigger at this time than the one trying to catch four-star quarterback Jaden Rashada (Pittsburg, CA). Originally set to announce his commitment this week, the 45th-ranked player in the nation and No. 7 overall signal caller delayed his decision until June 26.

Florida and Texas A&M were though to be Rashada’s finalists with many believing the Gators would land his pledge; however, LSU and Ole Miss remain in the mix with Miami coming on late attempting to secure a visit before he makes his decision.
