What has been a slow process building the Class of 2025 took a bit of a turn this week as the Florida Gators acquired two talented offensive playmakers at positions of need. Four-star wide receiver Joshua Moore (Pembroke Pines, FL) committed to the Gators on Wednesday just a handful of days after three-star tight end Micah Jones (Madison, MS) did the same.
Moore (6-foot-4, 205 pounds), considered among the program’s top targets at receiver this cycle, ultimately chose Florida over Florida State just days after visiting UF. Ranked No. 196 overall in the 247Sports Composite, the sizable pass catcher and likely X-position target is still listed as a three-star prospect by 247Sports’ internal rankings; many believe he is underrated and due for a rise sooner than later.
Jones (6-foot-5, 245 pounds) chose the Gators last Friday over LSU and Ole Miss, /among others. He was another highly pursued target as UF is seeking to add multiple tight ends to the roster in 2025.
Despite the additions, Florida is well behind its peers at 67th in the 247Sports Team Rankings with only seven commitments, including a punter. The early signing period is less than six months away, so hope is that head coach Billy Napier is beginning to pick up steam building this class before the season begins.
