The trickle of commitments from the Class of 2025 continued Wednesday with the Florida Gators adding a key piece to their future roster. Four-star linebacker Myles Johnson (Brewton, AL) committed to Florida after previously being committed to Alabama for nine months.

Johnson (6-foot-1, 220 pounds) rescinded that pledge last week, instead becoming the second defensive front seven player to join the Gators’ class. He ultimately chose UF over Ole Miss and LSU. Johnson is rated as the No. 25 linebacker this cycle without a national ranking, per 247Sports, despite being a three-star prospect ranked 491st nationally in the 247Sports Composite.

Florida now has nine commitments in the Class of 2025, but it is only ranked 67th in the 247Sports team rankings, ahead of only Vanderbilt in the SEC. Multiple top targets are favored to commit to the Gators this summer, while others are waiting to see how they perform in Year 3 under Billy Napier before making their decisions.
