What’s expected to be a fruitful recruiting weekend for the Florida Gators continued to get off to a hot start Friday as four-star wide receiver Aidan Mizell (Orlando, FL) committed to the program. He is the third significant addition for UF on the offensive side of the ball.
Mizell (6-foot-2, 180 pounds) committed to Florida out of a stacked offer list including Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, but the Gators long led for his services. Considered one of the fastest players in the Class of 2023, he picked up 1,003 yards receiving with 18 touchdowns during a breakout junior campaign for Boone High School.
The No. 72 overall player this cycle in the 247Sports Composite, Mizell becomes Florida’s highest-rated commitment by a significant margin, leaping four-star athlete Eugene Wilson III (Tampa, FL), presently the 140th-ranked player in the nation. Should he sign with the program in December, Mizell will be the highest-rated offensive playmaker to join the Gators since WR Xzavier Henderson in 2020.
In linking with Florida, Mizell pushes the program to 14th in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, its highest spot since head coach Billy Napier took over the team. While he is also the 12th of UF’s 14 pledges from the Sunshine State, he’s the first this cycle to use live alligators while committing to the Gators.
