Florida football recruiting: Four-star LB Jaden Robinson flips from South Carolina

As the Florida Gators prepare for the start of the 2022 season, the program continues riding a significant amount of momentum in the recruiting space. Four-star linebacker Jaden Robinson (Lake City, FL) on Tuesday became the latest top-tier prospect to commit to the Gators this summer.

“Only Gators Get Out Alive,” he tweeted as part of his announcement.

Robinson (6-foot-1, 215 pounds), a former South Carolina commitment, flipped to Florida after visiting the program twice during its blockbuster recruiting month of July. He is the 12th blue chip prospect head coach Billy Napier’s staff has acquired in the last 50 days with all 12 being the highest-ranked players in the program’s Class of 2023.

Rated as the 379th overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite, Robinson is the first pure linebacker to join the Gators’ class. Florida remains 13th in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, though it has closed the gap with the top 10 teams in the nation.

Robinson is the 15th of the Gators’ 17 commitments from the Sunshine State and also the 15th four-star prospect in the class. Florida sits behind rivals Alabama (No. 2), Georgia (No. 5), LSU (No. 6), Miami (No. 9) and Tennessee (No. 11) in the rankings with a number of big-time prospects still on UF’s board.
