Florida Gators basketball will take the court for its second season under head coach Mike White still looking to find the rhythm lost by the program following its Final Four berth in 2014.

The Gators are 37-32 over the last two seasons, including Billy Donovan’s last and White’s first, failing to reach the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years.

Of interesting note for Florida this time around is it will not step foot into its home arena, the Stephen C. O’Connell Center, until the $64.5 million renovations are completed in late December. The Gators will spend their nonconference slate on a barnstorming tour of the state of Florida, playing in six cities not named Gainesville in addition to one game in New York.

Twelve of those 13 nonconference games will be played at neutral sites (nine) or on the road (three) with UF playing its home opener on Dec. 21 against Arkansas-Little Rock. As previously reported by OnlyGators.com, Florida will compete in the AdvoCare Invitational (Orlando), Jimmy V. Classic (New York) and Orange Bowl Basketball Classic (Sunrise), playing in the latter for the 16th time in 17 seasons.

The Gators will end their nonconference campaign after the SEC schedule begins for the second consecutive year when Florida travels to face Oklahoma in the fourth annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge. The game, one of 10 between the conferences played that day, will be held during a special bye week created by the SEC in order to fit the contest in.

As part of the Southeastern Conference schedule released Tuesday, the Gators will play in 12 games on the three primary networks — CBS, ESPN, ESPN2 — whic his second in the league to Kentucky (16). The newly revamped SEC schedule has UF facing annual opponents UK, Georgia and Vanderbilt twice; Arkansas and South Carolina are the annual rotation opponents UF will play home-and-homes with this season.

The Gators will also play Ole Miss, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas A&M at home while travelling to Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State.
