The Florida Gators were tested for 60 minutes on Saturday when they opened their 2019 SEC schedule and played their first true road game of the year at Kentucky. Ultimately though, despite losing a starting quarterback and a starting defensive end while already down two key playmakers, Florida prevailed 29-21. And they were rewarded — or at least not penalized — for their resolve in the college football rankings following Week 3.

The Gators (3-0, 1-0 SEC) held their prior positioning at No. 9 in the AP Top 25 and No. 8 in the Coaches Poll. The difference in the respective rankings is Auburn, which remains ahead of Florida in the Coaches Poll as it does have a victory over a ranked opponent this season. Clemson remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation with Alabama right behind it at No. 2 in both polls.
