The Florida Gators may have cooled down on the field across the last two weeks, but the program clearly remains hot on the recruiting trail. On Sunday, after taking in Florida’s 31-28 win over South Florida live at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, four-star 2024 running back Chauncey Bowens (North Palm Beach, FL) chose to commit to the Gators.

“I would like to thank Coach [Billy] Napier for this opportunity with that being said I will be committing to the UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA ! #2THESW4MP,” he announced on Twitter.

Bowens (5-foot-11, 215 pounds) committed to Florida over offers from Auburn, Florida State and Miami, among others. He did not previously release a list of finalists.

He becomes Florida’s second 2024 pledge joining four-star linebacker Myles Graham (Atlanta, GA). Bowens’ commitment boosts the Gators six spots to No. 9 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings, though it remains early in the process.

Florida’s Class of 2023 sits at No. 10 in the 247Sports Composite after an exceptional close to the summer. There are less than three months remaining until the early signing period for 2023 and therefore 15 months until Bowens and Graham can sign National Letters of Intent.
