Twitter Chatter: Former Gators comment as No. 3 Alabama roasts Florida in Tuscaloosa

In a new feature here on OnlyGators.com, we take a look at what former and current Florida Gators players had to say on social media during the team’s latest game.

Florida (2-1, 1-1 SEC) was upended 42-21 by the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide (4-0, 1-0 SEC) on Saturday afternoon at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Despite some positive returns early, the mood turned quite sour as the Crimson Tide broke a 21-21 tie by scoring three-straight touchdowns to end Saturday’s affair.

Now its all old Florida football players saying the starting qb should be benched. To me, that tells you a lot, considering they are usually the last ones to criticize players.

Also, the way the old Florida defensive guys were talking about the play of the secondary, including the coaching.

IMO, if Muschamp wants to keep his job, he needs a spark from Treon Harris and show real progress the rest of the season. Unfortunately, there just doesn’t seem to be a lot of development from Jeff.

DRISKEL is NOT the Answer 9 For 28 for 95 yards you gotta be kidding me…. DEFENSE is supposed to be MUSCHUMP’S calling card well the Delivery Man has NOT delivered. Defense gave up 645 Total Yards PATHETIC… FIRE MUSCHAMP!!! HIRE DAN MULLEN He’s done MORE WITH LESS as opposed to CHUMP

Muschamp must be some hard headed, set on his ways, afraid to change dude.
The only thing I can think off to give him the benefit of the doubt is that Driskel had the same dismal performance in the first half of the UK game but came on in the second half and OT. Maybe Muschamp was waiting for more of the same.
He waited too darn long though and should have brought in Harris at the very least to split some series between the 2 QBs.
I don’t blame the defense much only for giving up those 2 long TD passes in the first half. Besides that they were solid in the first half and even after those 2 big mistakes we were still tied thanks to the D and the turnovers.
In the second half they wore out due to the inept offense going 3 and out repeatedly.
So our O puts up 20 points against UK in regulation followed by 14 points at Bama. More of the same ineptness. More of the same crap. Cannot win in this league scoring 20 or less points.
We have a week off, time to do what you must to change.
If we only score 20 points at Tennessee we will lose.
