Though the Florida Gators will not take the field for one more week, the latest edition of college football rankings for the 2020 season were released Sunday following Week 3 action. With Big Ten and Pac-12 teams still out of the AP Top 25 but Big Ten teams added back to the Coaches Poll, suffice to say, the rankings are a bit of a mess.

The Gators remained the No. 5 team in the AP Top 25 and No. 6 team in the Coaches Poll. Florida’s top-five ranking in the AP Top 25 is its first since 2012. It is still the third-ranked SEC team behind Alabama and Georgia in the AP Top 25 but is behind of LSU in the Coaches Poll.

Clemson remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation with Alabama firmly in the No. 2 spot. In-state rival Miami had its rankings juiced this week after beating a mediocre-but-ranked Louisville team on the road. With Texas A&M, Tennessee and Kentucky still in the AP Top 25, UF has five games against ranked opponents out of its 10 this season.
