The Florida Gators (5-0, 2-0 SEC) may not have looked dominant on Saturday, but they still cruised to an easy home win win over the Towson Tigers of the FCS, picking up a 38-0 victory at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Florida. Despite being riddled with injuries, the Gators took care of business at home as it rested up and prepared for a gauntlet of ranked opponents.

That starts this week as Florida hosts Auburn, the first of three top-10 teams that UF will face over a four-game stretch through the month of October.

The Gators fell one spot to No. 10 in the AP Top 25 and held steady at No. 8 in the Coaches Poll for the fourth straight week, while the Tigers remained a unanimous No. 7 nationally. One-loss Notre Dame jumped Florida by 10 points in the AP Top 25. Considering AU has two wins over ranked opponents already and UF has not even faced one, it is more than fair that next week’s visitors enter the game with the higher designation.

The other difference in the respective rankings for Florida is Wisconsin, which is ahead in the AP Top 25 but still behind in the Coaches Poll.

Alabama jumped Clemson for the No. 1 spot in both rankings despite the Tigers earning one more first-place vote than the Crimson Tide in the Coaches Poll. Georgia (No. 3) and Ohio State (No. 5) also received first-place votes from the coaches, and OSU moved up to No. 4 in the AP Top 25.
