It was not universal, but the Florida Gators returned to one of the top 25 polls on Sunday after taking down the previously-ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road Saturday night. Florida’s victory over Mississippi State made it the only team in the nation to win two conference road games this season (UF did it back-to-back), and with its lone loss coming to a now top-15 Kentucky program, the Gators are clearly catching voters’ attention.

Florida checked in at No. 22 in the new edition of the AP Top 25, though it was not ranked in the Coaches Poll, somehow sitting at the 27th spot in the rankings despite a Virginia Tech team that lost to Old Dominion — Old Dominion! — slotting ahead of them. The Gators (4-1, 2-1 SEC) received 210 votes in the AP Top 25 but just 105 in the Coaches Poll.

This means Florida and LSU will both be ranked for their showdown on Saturday, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET and airs live on CBS in the SEC on CBS Game of the Week.

Let’s take a look at the latest AP Top 25 poll after Week 5.
