It was a celebration on Saturday night in The Swamp after the Florida Gators (6-0, 3-0 SEC) dominated the Auburn Tigers (5-1, 2-1 SEC) defensively in a top-10 showdown inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. In addition to the theatrics on the field, things to rowdy inside the Gators locker room as head coach Dan Mullen danced with his players and Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmit Smith spoke to the team.

Smith, in town to watch the game and serve as the guest picker on ESPN’s “College GameDay,” was one of a number of former Florida stars watching the game in person on Saturday. And while there was plenty of reaction to the Gators’ big win on social media, little has been shown about what went down in Gainesville, Florida, itself.

After the game, Smith visited Florida in the locker room and praised the team for making adjustments during the game. He also delivered a simple but rousing message: “Do you want to be great, or do you want to be average?”

The fun did not stop with Smith, though. Mullen also gave a post-game speech to his team and then got down with the Gators. “We talk about living up to the Gator Standard, about 11 guys on the field going as hard as they can every single snap,” Mullen said. “… Expecting to play top-10 matchups in The Swamp and expecting to win those games.”
