Talk all offseason centered around the impact freshman wide receiver Dallas Wilson would make once stepping on the field for the Florida Gators. Though it took Wilson a few games to get cleared, once he did, he began to live up to those lofty expectations.

Unfortunately, that flash of stardom is all the Gators and their fans will experience from the former five-star prospect in 2025. Wilson, who injured his right foot Saturday in a 24-20 loss to No. 5 Georgia, is expected to miss the remainder of the season, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

While the nature of Wilson’s foot injury has yet to be revealed, the pass catcher was seen on the sideline wearing a boot at the start of the second half after hauling in his only ball of the game shortly before halftime.

Wilson debuted against then-No. 9 Texas on Oct. 4, hauling in six receptions for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Though his production did not remain that high over the ensuing 2.5 games, he continued to impress when given opportunities.

Florida on Saturday not only played without Wilson for a half but wide receivers freshman Vernell Brown III and redshirt sophomore Aidan Mizell for the entire game.

Brown is the Gators’ top wideout this season, having hauled in 32 passes for 451 yards without a score. Redshirt sophomore Eugene Wilson III emerged against Georgia with his best effort in more than a year, taking nine catches for 121 yards and a touchdown in the contest.
