College football rankings, top 25 polls: Florida falls to No. 10 after Georgia loss

The Florida Gators (7-2, 4-2 SEC) fell in a must-win, College Football Playoff elimination game on Saturday, dropping their third straight to Georgia, 24-17. As such, Florida took a tumble in both polls — and thanks to a victory by Baylor, which remains undefeated — got knocked from the ranks of the top 10 in one of them despite its only losses this season coming against teams ranked among the best in the nation.

The Gators fell four spots in the AP Top 25 to No. 10 and five in the Coaches Poll to No. 11. They are the top-rated two-loss team in the nation, ahead of the undefeated Bears in the AP Top 25. The Bulldogs took over their vacated No. 6 spot in the respective rankings.

LSU took over the No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 week last — it is the third team to hold it this season — while Alabama held on to the No. 1 spot it earned five weeks ago in the Coaches Poll. Ohio State, Clemson, Penn State, Oregon, Utah and Oklahoma round out the top 10 in both sets of top 25 polls ahead of the first College Football Playoff Rankings release on Tuesday night.
