Florida Gators in at No. 11/10 in new top 25 polls after squeaking by Vanderbilt

The Florida Gators (8-1, 6-1 SEC) moved up slightly in the weekly top 25 rankings, checking in at No. 11 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 10 in the USA Today Coaches’ Poll coming off a sloppy 9-7 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Last week, the Gators were listed at No. 11 in the AP rankings and No. 12 in the USA Today poll. Florida now has 887 votes (-36) in the Week 10 AP rankings and 949 votes (+7) in the USA Today poll.

While much of the polls went as expected, Clemson received 31 first-place votes in the AP Top 25 and is the new No. 1 team in the nation, jumping Ohio State. Florida is the fifth-ranked one-loss team in the AP poll, behind Alabama (3), Notre Dame (6), Stanford (7), LSU (9) and Utah (10).

Seven SEC coaches will be voting in the coaches’ poll this season: Gus Malzahn (Auburn), Les Miles (LSU), Gary Pinkel (Missouri), Mark Richt (Georgia), Nick Saban (Alabama), Steve Spurrier (South Carolina), Kevin Sumlin (Texas A&M)

Miles, Richt, Saban and Spurrier all voted in 2013 and 2014 with Pinkel and Sumlin also voting in 2014.

Coaches from five of UF’s 12 opponents will be voting: Miles, Pinkel, Richt, Spurrier, Jimbo Fisher (Florida State)
