The building of the Class of 2025 remains slow, but it appears to be picking up steam with the Florida Gators receiving their third commitment in as many days. With the early signing period just weeks away, three-star offensive lineman Daniel Pierre Louis (Loxahatchee, FL) decided to flip his pledge on Tuesday moving on from Florida State by linking with Florida.
Pierre Louis (6-foot-5, 290 pounds), who is not related to former Gators cornerback Wondy Pierre-Louis, committed to FSU just over a month ago. He committed to Florida just four days after his official visit and about one month after being offered by the coaching staff, according to 247Sports.
Four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. (Jacksonville, FL), himself a former Seminoles commit, joined the Gators’ class on Sunday. Three-star defensive lineman Stephon Shivers (Brentwood, TN), who was previously committed to Georgia, announced for Florida on Monday.
The Gators have jumped three spots to No. 28 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings — an increase of 15 spots over the last three days from No. 43 entering the weekend.
Florida continues to add commitments, it will naturally progress up those rankings; however, given the lack of star power in the class and the limited time remaining until signing day, it is likely that the 2025 group will be the lowest-ranked class yet under head coach Billy Napier.
