The third regular season editions of the USA Today Coaches’ Poll and Associated Press Top 25 were released on Monday with the Michigan State Spartans sticking as the No. 1-ranked team in the country. Michigan State received 30-of-32 first-place votes from the coaches and 56-of-65 first-place votes from the AP voters.
The Florida Gators (4-1), fresh off a pair of victories at home over Southern (67-53) on Monday and Middle Tennessee State (79-59) on Thursday, moved up one spot each to No. 13 in the USA Today rankings and No. 15 in the AP top 25.
Florida checked in with 395 points (+39) in the USA Today poll and 729 points (+110) in the AP rankings.
The Gators will play three more top-25 teams in non-conference action.
