The Florida Gators announced on Tuesday that the athletic program has released You’re in Gator Country: Official Music of the Florida Gators, a seven-song album “featuring new hits from area musicians that pay tribute to their favorite collegiate team.”

The track listing for the album, which can be sampled below, is as follows:

“The music is already being played in-game and in-broadcast during Gators sporting events,” the University of Florida notes. “The intent is to establish new, unique audio content that celebrates and embraces Florida’s rich history and heritage on the playing surface.”

IMO a big FAIL. Sounds like a bad NASCAR game soundtrack. Maybe they will update the songs yearly?

Thought it was going to be lame, but some catchy tunes on there. Stocking stuffer this year?

Too generic, no mention of specific things about Gainesville or anything that is unique to Gator fandom beyond nicknames like rowdy reptiles. There are actually a number of fan-made songs that are out there which are much more personal and inspiring than this homogenized swill.
