After spending nearly two weeks from the opening of the transfer portal without adding a single player, the Florida Gators doubled up Sunday. Fresh off an official visit to the program, former Penn defensive lineman Joey Slackman decided to continue his career at Florida.

Slackman (6-foot-4, 300 pounds) was unranked as a high school prospect in the Class of 2019 only to star for the Quakers amassed 50 tackles (12 for loss) and 4.0 sacks last season. The Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year has 11 sacks in his career.

That production has Slackman rated as a four-star transfer slotted No. 25 overall in the 247Sports Transfer Rankings, making him one of the Gators top acquisitions in the portal era.

Florida now has the No. 47 transfer class, per 247Sports, largely because it only has two commitments, one of whom has not yet been rerated by the recruiting service. San Diego State offensive tackle Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, previously a three-star prospect in the Class of 2019, committed to UF earlier Sunday.

The Gators have seen more than a dozen players enter the transfer portal this offseason, headlined by starting running back Trevor Etienne and EDGE rusher Princely Umanmielen, the latter of whom is headed to Ole Miss.
