Florida football recruiting: Oregon DB Trikweze Bridges commits to Gators out of transfer portal

With National Signing Day less than 48 hours away, the Florida Gators continued to beef up their roster through the transfer portal. Oregon defensive back Trikweze Bridges became the latest player to make his decision, committing to join Florida next season.

Bridges (6-foot-3, 198 pounds) was a three-star prospect in the Class of 2019 who is now ranked No. 101 in the 247Sports Transfer Rankings. He is listed as the ninth-best cornerback to enter the portal this cycle.

Seeing his role diminished on defense this past season, Bridges played just 205 snaps for the Ducks in 2023 compared to 704 a year ago. There’s no doubt that playing time was a significant part of his decision to seek an opportunity elsewhere.

Bridges joins four-star Penn defensive lineman Joey Slackman (No. 25 overall) and projected three-star San Diego State offensive tackle Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson as the third member of the Gators’ transfer class.

Florida is now ranked No. 34 in the 247Sports Transfer Rankings. That rating will rise once Crenshaw-Dickson is rated by the service.
