ESPN and USA Today are both profiling former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow in anticipation of the 2010 NFL Draft set to begin Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
Tebow’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, claims that his client is already aware of exactly when he will be drafted and where he will be headed. Seriously.
“Yep,” Sexton said when asked by ESPN. “I don’t know if it’s gonna shock the world because I always thought he was going to do well. But we pretty much know. We have a pretty good idea what’s going to happen.”
Asked if Tebow is set up to become the most marketable athlete in history, Sexton was just as confident. “He will be, he will be,” he said.” Not sure how that speaks to his paltry $300,000 contract with Nike.
Speaking with USA Today, Sexton amped up the hype by relating what one top guy told him about Tebow. “I had one [NFL] head coach say to me, ‘I won’t tell you whether he can make it, but I’ll never say he can’t because I don’t want to be the guy who looks like an idiot. I wouldn’t bet against him,'” he said.
The only thing that one can be certain of right now is that Tebow will be drafted – by some team at some point – Thursday or Friday. Only that team – and apparently Tebow and Sexton – know the details.
