Tebow knows where he will land in 2010 NFL Draft

ESPN and USA Today are both profiling former Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow in anticipation of the 2010 NFL Draft set to begin Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.

Tebow’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, claims that his client is already aware of exactly when he will be drafted and where he will be headed. Seriously.

“Yep,” Sexton said when asked by ESPN. “I don’t know if it’s gonna shock the world because I always thought he was going to do well. But we pretty much know. We have a pretty good idea what’s going to happen.”

Asked if Tebow is set up to become the most marketable athlete in history, Sexton was just as confident. “He will be, he will be,” he said.” Not sure how that speaks to his paltry $300,000 contract with Nike.

Speaking with USA Today, Sexton amped up the hype by relating what one top guy told him about Tebow. “I had one [NFL] head coach say to me, ‘I won’t tell you whether he can make it, but I’ll never say he can’t because I don’t want to be the guy who looks like an idiot. I wouldn’t bet against him,'” he said.

The only thing that one can be certain of right now is that Tebow will be drafted – by some team at some point – Thursday or Friday. Only that team – and apparently Tebow and Sexton – know the details.

This is posturing. Theres no way they really know.

They could be told anything by an owner and have the complete opposite happen.

His comment of “I don’t know if it will be a shock” says it all. Hes going to go first round and his agent is saying this is no surprise as he is that good. NFL network wouldn’t be ramping up everything tonight at his house if they thought otherwise. His comment of “I don’t know if it will be a shock” says it all.

The NFL is going to his house because Tebow is a lightning rod amongst the public. If he goes early or goes late, it doesnt matter.. having Tebow around will raise viewership. And as for the team saying it will draft him… teams like to keep their picks a secret… what good would it do for a team to make their desire public, when it only is going to make other teams take a second look at him to make EXTRA sure they dont want him first? If a team REALLY wanted Tebow theyd be quiet and lay low. This is posturing through and through.

He probably has a good idea but as we all know, the draft is unpredictable at best. But I think that those who bet against him do it at their own peril. Just be glad when it’s all over so that all of these critics can go back in their holes.
