The Florida Gators went a long way to improving their Class of 2020 when four-star athlete Marc Britt (Miami, FL) announced his commitment to the program. Britt (6-foot-2, 190 pounds), is listed as a wide receiver but expected to continue his career as a defensive back. However, his specific position remains up in the air until he gets to campus and begins practicing with the program.
“It was a hard decision but this is the best decision for me,” wrote Britt, nicknamed Joker, on Twitter. “With that being said I will be committing to the university of Florida GO GATORS!!!!”
While this was not a surprise pledge for the Gators, it was an important one and comes just ahead of one of their biggest games of the season. Britt, rated the No. 276 player in the nation per the 247Sports Composite, committed to Florida over Penn State. Miami was also thought to be in the running for his services.
The 20th member of the Class of 2020, Britt has boosted Florida to No. 10 nationally in the 247Sports Composite team rankings. He is one of 12 four-star commitments for a class that ranks fifth in the SEC. Every intraleague class ranked ahead of UF has two or more five-star pledges, something the Gators have not been able to acquire in the last four recruiting cycles.
