The third edition of the College Football Playoff Rankings were released Tuesday night, and the Florida Gators found themselves at No. 8 in the rankings, up three spots from a week ago after their 24-14 win at South Carolina.
Florida opened at No. 10 three weeks ago before falling a spot to No. 11 after a close 9-7 win over Vanderbilt. Now the Gators are the fourth-ranked one-loss team in the top 25, behind Alabama, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. Though Florida has a better loss (LSU vs. Texas) and a tougher schedule than OU, UF is ranked one spot behind what is considered one of the hottest teams in the nation.
